DescriptionThe decoration rendered in blue and white in imitation of Chinese porcelain features Chinese-inspired flowers surrounded by a symmetrical lambrequin pattern around the rim. This embroidery-like ornament was popularized by the engravings of court architect and designer Daniel Marot. It came into fashion on Delftware in the 1690s, and remained a characteristic feature of its production into the 1720s.
