DescriptionChinese porcelain large dish from Jiaqing period (1522-1566), of shallow saucer form with flattened everted rim, and inward sloping foot rim. Decorated in underglaze blue, the centre with two Buddhist lions flanking a ribbon tied brocade ball, and surrounded by six circular medallions with flying cranes amid clouds. The rim has a band of peach and prunus alternating with eight precious symbol motifs, and double line bands. The underside has stylized precious symbol motifs, above a band with three groups of birds on branches above a cloud scroll on the foot.
