DescriptionMeissen tea service, each piece divided into four panels by bands of gilded scaling, all rims edged in gold lace pattern. Probably decorated by Johann Gregor Heintze, after Watteau.

Each piece has two yellow ground panels and two white ground panels. The yellow ground panels decorated with sprays of 'deutsche Blumen', including peonies, roses, narcissi, anemones, forget-me-nots and chrysanthemums in tones of purple, blue, green and iron-red. The interior of the basin, the teacups and the central oval medallion in the cavetto of each saucer is similarly decorated on a white find. The alternating panels of white are decorated with scenes in the manner of Watteau, showing ladies and gallants in a garden setting.
