DescriptionMeissen gold-mounted scent bottle, of pilgrim shape moulded at the sides with female masks. The body of Bottger stoneware is painted in the manner of Johann Gregor Horoldt on the front and back with figures fishing or conversing in a continuous river landscape beneath a cloudy sky, above a gilded gadroon-moulded border. The neck is painted with scrollwork enclosing landscape vignettes. It is mounted with a contemporary gold stopper, and there is modern gold footrim with a detachable mirror base.
