DescriptionWorcester coffee cup and saucer of rare yellow-scale ground. The coffee-cup is decorated with two mirrored-shaped cartouches, each containing an exotic bird of brilliantly coloured plumage, three vase shaped cartouches and two triangular panels containing an insect, and two triangular panels with floral sprigs. It has a loop handle heightened in gilt. The saucer is decorated with three mirror-shaped cartouches, each containing an exotic bird of brilliant plumage, between them three shaped cartouches, above six triangular ones, and in the centre a circular reserve, all containing insects. The panels is formed of gilt rococo feather-like borders, with gilt edged rims.
