DescriptionThe moulded cup is in the form of a nautilus shell, surmounted by a moulded figure of a naked female holding two trails of green seaweed in each hand. These trails of seaweed are supported on the exterior sides of the cup by six putti in relief, who in turn connect the seaweed to another naked female in high relief, underneath the front lip of the cup. The cup is supported by two tritons with intertwined arms, on a low base. Typical majolica colours of blue, brown, green, and soft mauve, along with flesh tones and clear glazes are used.
