DescriptionAn Urbino Istoriato circular plate from the service of Guidobaldo II di Montefeltro, Duck of Urbino. It is painted with a Roman consul fallen beneath his horse before a Carthaginian encampment, with numerous tents and figures in the foreground deriding him. A towered village on a mountain is behind.
