DescriptionAn Urbino Istoriato dish painted by Francesco Xanto Avelli and lustred by Gubbio by Maestro Giorgio Andreoli. It has the combat between Tideus and Polynices before Thebes, and the twp heroes with drawn swords and shields. There is a warrior on a prancing black horse to the right and five spearmen to the left beneath a tree. There is a fortress in the distance in a mountainous marine landscape. It has rich colouring, and the reverse has scrolls in gold and copper-lustre.
