DescriptionMaya painted cylinder vase, Late Classic period, in codex style of a palace scene, with the profile head of an old man leering at the seated young maiden. There is an intertwining snake around her and it turns into the foot of the God K. There is a smoking mirror emerging from his forehead, and standing before two deities, the first perhaps G-1 and the second God of Pax. Both are seated on ceremonial bundles, with scalloped curtains above, and vertical band of glyphs at the back.
