DescriptionSake bottle with stopper and six cups by Ruth Gowdy McKinley. Wheel thrown, of cyclindrical form, the bottle has a pronounced waisted rib at the shoulder and tapering neck with flaring rim. The shallow domed stopped with flat rim and button finial fitted with a cork plug (made by Donald Lloyd McKinley). There are matching cups with a similar pronounced waisted rib at the mouth-rim. They all have recessed bases. They are decorated with a matte black glaze, and a band of gloss brown oxide edged with narrow bands of glazed white porcelain. The bases have a circle of matte black glaze.
