It has two barbed panels painted on one side with a farmer tending his herd of cattle, the other side showing Asian merchants supervising the unloading of bales and casks from ships at anchor in the distance. The panels are edged with gilding and reserved on a deep yellow ground painted in a bright 'famille verte' palette. There are sprays of chrysanthemums, lotus and peonies springing from the footrim, and an insect in flight to one side. The cover painted with 'indianische Blumen' on a white ground and edged in gilding. The spout, collar and foot rim gilded.
