DescriptionThe rare trembleuse consists of a tortoiseshell saucer to which has been attached a circular gilt metal gallery supported by three feet, and a gilt metal foot rim. Parts of the gilt metal gallery are decorated with relief strapwork designs. It was probably made in South Germany, perhaps in Augsburg or possibly in Vienna, between about 1715-1735.
