DescriptionFounded by Claude Perrin around 1742-43, the Manufacture de la Veuve Perrin was taken over by his widow Pierrette Candelot after his death in 1748. Widows running potteries were not unusual, as potters tended to die young, perhaps because of the toxic materials they worked with. Pierrette Candelot therefore ran the manufacture on her own until her death in 1794, sometimes in partnership with other faience producers.
