DescriptionChinese porcelain side dish, blue and white with straight sides, and painted in soft blue cobalt in central scene with lotus and aquatic plants. The rim frieze has bajixiang (eight Buddhist treasures) inside double line bands. The reverse frieze has two orchid sprays, and the unglazed footing has burnt orange in firing process.
