DescriptionMeissen silver-mounted tankard with gilding. There is an Asian nobleman seated on a dais in an arched pavilion with steps on either side leading to a garden. An attendant stands on the left holding a fan, while a small dragon and an insect hover nearby. It has gilt-scroll borders, and the silver cover is inset with a thaler of George I of England, Elector of Brunswick and Lunenburg. It has a fluted and ribbed border and a mask thumb piece. It is painted in underglaze-blue picked out in iron-red, and yellow.
