DescriptionNasca painted effigy vessel, Early Intermediate period, of globular form. The front is moulded with a large demon wearing a tri-pointed headdress, mouth mask, incised geometric cape, and spiked arm decoration. There are curving demons with projecting tongues that are emerging from his legs at the back. He is grasping to his chest a vanquished warrior, with a moulded head, carrying a knife in his left hand and a trophy-head in the right. There is a cylindrical spout at the top. It is painted in deep reddish-brown, black, tan, and orange on a cream ground
