DescriptionMeissen teapot and cover, the body superbly painted with Italian Comedy subjects by J.G. Herold. It has two large panels enclosed by brown, red, and gold scroll work and small panels of pink lustre. One panel depicts a masked Harlequin gesturing to Bagolin, who hold a lute. The other panel depicts a masked Pantaloon and a smiling Mezzetine. The handle, spout and cover are painted with small flower sprays in oriental style.
