DescriptionMeissen dish decorated in underglaze blue, attributed to Johann Caspar Ripp ( b' 1681, act at Meissen 1721-23, a fayence painter) after a Chinese original by J.G. Mehlhorn or D. Kohler. There are four sailing ships in an estuary, with two ducks swimming by the shore, within a zig-zag border and stylised flowers. The exterior has Kaputzinerbraun glaze.
