DescriptionMeissen chinoiserie armorial inscribed tea bowl and saucer from the Clemens August service. The saucer has figures and a table between them, the tea bowl with a similar coat-of-arms and with a Chinamen holding a crozier, and an electoral crown on a tasselled tray. The presence of the stag on the tea bowl is probably a delicate reference to Clemens August's passion for the chase.
