DescriptionFrankenthal Chinoiserie milk jug and cover with ear-shaped handle. The slender pear-shaped body is painted below the beak spout with a vivacious chinoiserie musical party. One figure is playing a stringed instrument, the second a wind instrument and the third holding a vocal score which is overlooked by an exotic bird on a perch below an orange coconut tree. The ground has scattered insects, and is has a domed lid with a smoking Chinaman and an almost neo-classical border in gilding.
